Nice to have a place to pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, hang up the goggles and helmet, throw the latest bullet riddled Sopwith serial number badge into my trunk of trophies, and unwind a bit among friends. Wink

'tis indeed 🙂  Looks like everything is working properly on the forum – just reset the priority so that uploaded avatars take precedence of Gravatars.  Getting ready to send notice about new site to all members/former members.

Jupes? Flozz? Amish? How're you guys doing?!?!?!?   Ronin sent me a note and said you guys were rolling, er, flying again. I couldn't tell you the last time I've flown! The lousy bastages that broke into the house last year and stole my computer also stole my joystick and I just never bothered to replace it. They also stole my pistol! The police found it and returned it last week, about a month after I bought a new one! No luck on the joystick though. I've been flying radio control gliders for a while now too. Nothin takes care of stress like sanding balsa until you can't breathe!

Hoss!  Great to hear from you!  As you have now gathered, yes, we are reorganizing for Rise of Flight and looking for pilots again.  I will be sending an email out to the membership (such as it stands) today announcing the new site/forum and goals for the squad.

Sorry to hear about your theft – I hope you will be able to find a way to get back in the virtual skies with us!

By the way, I still do R/C modeling too – working (slowly) on a Sopwith Camel and have a Dr.1 kit to build after that 🙂

You ever get over to RCgroups.com? If so, shoot me a msg over there also. I go by the moniker of "Hossfly72".

Imaginative huh? LOL I'm usually on the Sailplanes forum, sometimes the indoor & Micro forum. I'm down here in Mobile, Alabama and we've got awesome thermal flying, when the wind finally dies down a bit. No slope soaring though. I'll have to get a new joystick and try RoF. I haven't even fired up RB3D but a couple of times since I got this new computer. RB doesn't run very well on it.

In fact I do, but rarely post there – I've pretty much been following the Hangar 9 Camel Build thread as I construct my own Camel 🙂  The Camel is an ARF, but I have a Balsa USA Dr.1 I'm itching to get started on, and that's a full kit.

As to RB, I hear it is hit or miss on newer machines – you either get lucky with the right setup or you don't.  There are several different wrappers/settings to try…

I may add, that there's not much we could say that would improve Dub's chances of shooting any of us down.  No one's flown online yet except me, and I haven't beaten Dub yet!  He's at a 100% success rate already!

Ha! The only reason why my name is so easy to remember is because it is so very often found –in multitude– in the pages of every Ace's kill log!

I would still have to agree with Amish… I still feel like such a newbie when flying in this sim.  It's like learning to fly all over again.

Salute, fellow Wulffen!

Yes, it is good to be back.  I've been flying Rise of Flight since it first came out–even though my rig is on the low-end of its spectrum.  It still looks and feels great, however.

I've rarely flown it on line, and since last October I've rarely flown it at all.  I've taken a new job in Lexington, Kentucky that keeps me at work 65-70 hours a week while my wife and son stay behind in Green Bay, Wisconsin trying to sell a house that nobody wants to look at.  Can you spell S-T-R-E-S-S?  I only get back home one week each month, so needless to say I can't be spending a lot of time with flight sims when I'm there–if you catch my drift.

I hope to see all of you in the cyber skies again one of these fine days!

Hang in there my friend – everything will work out in the end.  It's a hard time in the housing market right now but the right buyer will come along.  We hope to see you flying again soon! (but certainly understand waiting until things settle!)
